Woo, some inspiration, finally...
I started visiting the RP forums at snafu.com, and got into one called Elemental Academy. Hasn't started yet, but it looks like it's gonna be fun--and a learning experience. I've played DnD (as you all know), but the mechanics of online RP seem quite different--at least in this case. So it will be interesting, and I'm all excited now.
Anyway, this is Tatiana. She's Russian, 'cause everyone else had the Western Europe and Japan bases pretty well covered, and I wanted to be different.
BTW, that's her name written in Cyrillic in the corner. I just thought that would be cool.
*edit* apparently it was cut off in the resizing process; I'm too lazy to fix it right this second.
A lot of people were also doing darker characters, which is cool, but I figured I'd make sure different personalities were mixed nicely--so she's pretty normal. Yes. You heard me. Normal.
Nothing in my usual veins of personality: no tragic past, no abusive family members, no well-kept secrets to be revealed--she doesn't even wear profusions of black (not that I find anything wrong with it, obviously, but you know). I know
she's not like most of my characters. Even I like to mix things up once in a while. I'm quite proud of her, personally. She's 12, which is why she's so short and disproportioned.
She's very down-to-earth. I figure most everyone else has these wonderfully flamboyant and creatively done characters, so I may as well do one that stands out because she's not as fantasy/anime/manga based. I think it adds to her 'foreign exchange' feel. She's a day-dreamer, and rather absent-minded, but not necessarily scholarly. That doesn't mean she's dumb (I will never, ever play a dumb character. Period.), she just has problems in school. Most of it's from the chronic head-in-clouds syndrome and a minor language barrier. English is her second language, and while she's pretty fluent, she has a hard time with innuendo and slang. She also has a tendency to switch languages when she's upset or flustered (which is normal for bilingual people, actually).
Tatiana is pretty level-headed, and very dependable. she doesn't pick fights often, but when she does it's out of a strong sense of justice--bullies will not be tolerated. That's what the scar on her lower lip is from; a schoolyard fight involving a rock.
If you're wondering what all the detail's for, our GM commands it. I understand; I do the same thing when I DM at home. I want well-thought out characters on my campaigns.
