I actually took this in mid June, when my Dad came home from Iraq. We all went out to meet his plane, and while we were waiting for all his stuff to arrive and having a general family moment, he picked up a flag that someone dropped and put it in his sleeve pocket. He can't stand to see a flag on the ground, because it's disrespectful. While we were standing around I just took the shot. When we got home, I just downsized it and colored it in sepia. It means a lot to me, because I'm not sure how I feel about the war, but I know that I'm proud of what he does.
Soon we'll be saluting you... *lol*
